Japan-Europe Internet Trust Symposium
～ Issues and Practices of E-commerce Using Electronic Signatures in Japan and Europe ～
The world is going paperless. The importance of electronic signatures is increasing as the reliability (trust) in the electronic-based business transactions needs to be ensured. “Electronic contracts”, the electronic services for transaction documents using electronic signatures, have spread rapidly in Japan, and the movements towards the Online Complete Society and the Work-style Reforms have been accelerated.
We invited ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) where is a standardization organization in the telecommunications industry in Europe and some Japanese experts to introduce the trends of the standardization of electronic signatures, as well as the issues and practices of e-commerce using electronic signatures in Japan and Europe.
