Since its establishment in 1967, as a nonprofit organization under the laws of Japan, JIPDEC has worked to advance computer technologies and ensure the security of information systems.
JIPDEC was designated as a "Designated Investigative Organization" pursuant to Act on Electronic Signatures and Certification Business by the competent ministers* in 2003.
